Turning 65 and entering Medicare for the first time can be a challenging but rewarding experience . . .
The alphabet soup surrounding the choices regarding Medicare insurance can be difficult to navigate. Midwest Health XChange is here to help.
Traditional Medicare allows insurance companies several options to supplement healthcare expenses that Medicare does not cover fully. Medicare supplement plans or Medigap policies were created to fill in and pay for Medical bills left uncovered by deductibles and benefit limits within the Medicare System.
Medicare Part A and B ~
Original Medicare includes Part A, which covers hospital based care and Part B which covers other medical care from your doctors. Like private insurance policies, Medicare does not cover all medical expenses.
Most individuals do not pay premiums for Part A of Medicare. Part B premiums are based on income so premiums will vary for individuals.
6 Month Open Enrollment Period
It is very important to be enrolled in Parts A and B during your six month Open Enrollment Period which begins three months prior to your birth month. If you’re not receiving Social Security benefits, you may sign up thru your local Social Security office or through the Social Security Administration website.
Although Medicare provides enrollees a wide set of benefits, it also contains coverage “gaps”.
These “gaps” come in the form of deductibles and coinsurance that can be as much as 20% of your bill!

Here is a recent testimonial from one of our clients:
“We were very concerned when my wife, Elaine, and I were eligible for Medicare. Chris came over to our house and explained all of the options and made sure that we knew the pros and cons of the available selections. After his careful and thoughtful presentation, we moved forward with Medicare and the best supplement for us. We also added Home Health Care Services as well.
Our experience with Chris was great and we highly recommend him to anyone that needs to understand the in and outs of the Medicare program. Chris has really given us one less thing to worry about. He is honest, trustworthy, frugal, smart and helpful.” Dave W.
